Men with MS

I was diagnosed 3 years ago and am 28 years old. As a guy with ms I do find it difficult when people watch as I walk slower and side to side and have definate cognitive and speach problems. I am off work right now and may have to go onto long term disability...fingers crossed I DONT!
It is difficult to explain to friends and co workers what I am experiencing. I know some people must think \"it\'s all in his head, shake it off and move on!\" Hell I even say that to myself! Its just not working lately.

Dave,
Now I am not male but I have been in your shoes. I had to learn to laugh at myself, I used to get it\'s all in your head all time. So I learned to turn that into a joke with my mother because it was doctors telling me it was all in my head. When after 11 years of test after test after test they finally said this is definitely what she has my mom looked at me and said hey after all these years it is all in your head as upset as I was with the diagnosis I just had to finally allow myself to laugh. Some stuff is easier to shake off then others like when I fall mid stride and someone helps me up and says are you ok, I tell them why yes I am I\'ve been practicing that fall for years and of course I follow it up with a smile.
